Dr Laurence Maiden is a highly esteemed and experienced consultant physician and gastroenterologist who specialises in bowel cancer screening, abdominal pain and bloating, stomach pain and bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, performing colonoscopies, inflammatory bowel disease, as well as carrying out capsule endoscopies. He currently practises at the Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital and Nuffield Health Hospital in Tunbridge Wells, the Kent-based Benenden Hospital, as well as Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. 

Dr Maiden's main areas of research interest include nutrition, liver disease, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, interventional endoscopy (polyp removal), as well as small bowel enteroscopy. Presently, he is Chief of Medicine and Emergency Care at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust and is, impressively, only one of two officially accredited consultant colonoscopists for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme in Tunbridge Wells. 

His role as nutrition clinical lead at Tunbridge Wells Hospital NHS has seen Dr Maiden notably develop original and effective pathways in relation to the management of specialised feeding (both parenteral and enteral) and of patients suffering from eating disorders. He was appointed Chief of Medicine and Emergency Care at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2018, a role which sees him responsible for overseeing three different directorates, 70 consultants and 300 nurses.

Mr G. Michael Hess is a highly skilled consultant orthopaedic spinal surgeon based at the London Spine Clinic and the KIMS Hospital (Kent). He specialises in minimally invasive and endoscopic spinal surgery, treating conditions such as sciatica, slipped discs, and osteoporosis of the spine. He founded InsightSpine in 2016, offering an in-depth spinal disc pain service in London and Maidstone (with Dr A. Hammond), Munich and Lisbon (with Dr A. Barbosa) respectively. 

Mr Hess, who possesses a PhD in orthopaedics, qualified from the Heinrich Heine Universitat Dusseldorf in 1995, before undertaking training in trauma surgery in St. Moritz, Switzerland and at the Spine Center at Orthopaedische Klinik Muenchen-Harlaching. He also undertook a fellowship in spine surgery and interventional radiology at the University Hospital in Quebec City. Following this, he was made lead of the Back Pain Center at Orthopaedische Klinik Muenchen-Harlaching. 

Mr Hess's years of experience have given him expertise in a wide range of endoscopic techniques and thanks to this, he has gained an excellent, world-renowned reputation in the field of minimally invasive spine surgery and interventional pain therapy. Impressively, he helped to perform the world's first successful fully endoscopic nucleus replacement surgery in 2009 and is currently the principal clinical investigator of an international multicenter study for a novel nucleus implant. To add to what is an already-stand-out medical cirriculum, he is also the former president of the German Interventional Spine Society. 

To-date, the exceptional Mr Hess has presented over 200 scientific papers, and since 2003, has held the position of Master Instructor for Spine Intervention Society (SIS) in the US and Europe. He has recently been offered to be a proctor for spinal endoscopy at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore

Mr Devendra Mahadevan is a highly respected consultant orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon based in Reading, Berkshire. He specialises in all aspects of foot and ankle orthopaedic care, in particular the treatment of sports injuries, bunion and the Achilles tendon. He is also renowned for his expertise in arthritis and ankle arthroscopy.

After qualifying in medicine from the University of Nottingham in 2002, Mr Mahadevan completed his early surgical training in the South West and became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2005. He then pursued specialist training in orthopaedics in the East Midlands deanery and became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2013. Mr Mahadevan later undertook a year-long senior fellowship specialising in the foot and ankle at the prestigious Avon Orthopaedic Centre within North Bristol NHS Trust. He was later appointed as a consultant orthopaedic foot and ankle surgeon in Reading.Throughout his esteemed career, he has held a number of senior positions including clinical governance lead for trauma and orthopaedics and is currently clinical director of orthopaedics and trauma surgery within the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Mahadevan sees private patients at Circle Reading Hospital, the Berkshire Independent Hospital and the Spire Dunedin Hospital.

Mr Mahadevan is actively involved in research and his extensive academic publications appear in peer-reviewed journals. He has also authored a number of book chapters in academic textbooks and his contributions to the field are highly esteemed. He is also an elected member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society's scientific committee. 

Mr Mahadevan often presents at national and international meetings of colleagues and is a faculty member for several teaching courses, including for the BOFAS Principles of Foot and Ankle surgery course. Patient outcomes are central to his practice and this has been recognised with the silver award for his contributions to the BOFAS registry.
